Oleg Popov Sochi Video (2015)
From Circopedia
On June 30, 2015, Oleg Popov performed for the first time in Russia after 25 years of self-imposed exile in Germany. It was during the Master award ceremony at the State Circus of Sochi—and it was the first time Popov had been in Russia since he had chosen to establish himself in Germany after the Fall of the Soviet Union. His return was a cultural event of significant importance, as demonstrated by the presence in the ring, after his act, of Vladimir Medinsky, the Russian Minister of Culture, who read a message from President Vladimir Putin, of Vadim Gagloev (in tuxedo), then the Director of RosGosTsirk, and in the house, of Slava Polunin, the most famous Russian clown today, and by the audience's exuberant response.
