==High Wire==

Eliza Khachatryan was born in the circus: Her father, Gevorg, who was awarded the title of National Artist of Russia, is a graduate of the [[State College for Circus and Variety Arts]] (better known as the Moscow Circus School) who went on to work as a perch pole balancer and a high wire artist, and eventually created his own high wire act; her mother, also a circus artist, presented trained pigeons.

Eliza made her debut in the ring at age three, as a contortionist dressed as a doll. She was trained in circus arts by her father, and later worked with him in a duet on the high wire. Besides her circus training, Eliza studied at the Russian Academy of Education, and had a keen interest in children’s psychology. But the circus ultimately took a prominent place in her life, as it generally does with those who are born in the fold, and Eliza chose to leave the Academy.

In 2010, Eliza created her unique and beautiful solo high wire act, with help from her father, which she debuted at [[Circus Nikulin]] in Moscow. In October 2013, Eliza won the Golden Idol at the ''Idol'' International Festival of Circus Arts at the [[Bolshoi Circus]] in Moscow.
