Contortionist

Udarma was born in the People's Republic of Mongolia (today's Mongolia) and trained at the State Circus School of Ulan-Bator. She specialized in the art of contortion: In this remote Asian country (located between Russian Siberia and China), contortionists endowed with spiritual significance their unique ability to twist their bodies into intricate positions; for centuries, they were revered as sacred dancers.

Udarma went to work with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey in the United States in 1988. In 1990, she participated in the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris, where she won a Silver Medal.
