Mark Gindick was born and raised in New York City. He studied film and drama at SUNY Purchase, and is a graduate of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s Clown College. He has been working as a physical comedian onstage and in the circus since his graduation from Clown College, and has shared the role of "Grandma" with Barry Lubin at the Big Apple Circus in Big Top Doo Wop (2001-2002) and Dreams Of A City (2002-2003).

Mark has performed as a clown with The NY Goofs at Carnegie Hall and at The International Children’s Festival, with Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey, and has been featured in the Big Apple Circus production of Play On! in 2008-2009. He has written, performed and appeared in theater, film and television, including Nora Ephron’s Julie and Julia (2009), The Late Show with David Letterman, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

He has starred in the comedy hit Happy Hour in New York and Edinburgh, and has written and starred in How To Be A Man at the Palace of Variety on 42nd Street in New York. He is a member of the Big Apple Circus Clown Care™, and has been awarded two Golden Nose Awards from the New York Downtown Clown Revue.
