Acrobat, Ropedancer

Little is known of the Italian tightrope dancer Marietta Orsanigo: she was active in the 1840s in Europe, where she was a member of the circus troupe of Alessandro Guerra, with which she performed in St. Petersburg in 1845 (see: Russia's First National Circus). She had been a pupil of the legendary ropedancer, Madame Saqui (1786-1866).
