Dania Kaseeva (sometimes billed as "Dana" Kaseeva) was born on March 21, 1966 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. She is the daughter of Rustam Kaseev (1929-97), a celebrated acrobat and bear trainer. After training in dance and acrobatics, Dania created, with the help of her father, a unique hula-hoop act with which she made her professional debut at age fifteen. Her amazing technique, dynamic choreography, and magnetic stage presence won her a Gold Medal at the 1988 Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris.
