Emile Carey

Juggler

Emile Carey was born in Arthabaska, in the Province of Quebec, Canada. He began juggling in front of an audience in his school when he was twelve years old, and thought he could make a profession of it. After high schoolA display of equestrian dressage by a rider mounting a horse and leading it into classic moves and steps. (From the French: Haute école), he enrolled at the Ecole Nationale de Cirque in Montreal, where he graduated as a juggler in 2001. Meanwhile, as a Junior Competitor, he had already been awarded two consecutive Gold Medals (1999 and 2000) for his juggling technique by the International Juggling Association; Emile would later receive an additional three Silver Medals as professional juggler.

He made his circus debut in the Big Apple Circus production of Big Top Doo-Wop in 2001. He has appeared in many television shows in Canada and in Europe (including the French top-rated TV variety show, Le plus grand cabaret du monde), in Rolf Knie’s Salto Natale in Switzerland, and has worked with Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Eloize, among many others. In 2009, he created with his partner, Marie-Claude Chamberland, his own comedy show, Parfois, dans la vie, les choses changent, directed by Christine Rossignol. Together, they have created a performing company, Bande Artistique.
