Born in Madrid, Spain, and eighth generation of the Ramos-Rampin family, Ramón Santos Leal, better known as Ramón Rampin, hails from one of the oldest Spanish circus families, a family that has also produced four generations of clowns. He had first a successful international career as an acrobat with his family's Risley act of The Rampin Brothers, which he performed for twenty-one years all over the globe, including eleven years with Cirque du Soleil's ''Varekai''.

Upon retiring their act in 2014, Ramón, his father, and Ramón's twin brother decided to follow the family tradition and created the Rampin clown trio, in which Ramón was the traditional white-face clown, a role he had begun to play at age sixteen. The Rampin Trio acquired a strong reputation in Europe. In 2022, Ramón decided to go solo and created his own "auguste" character, with which he went to tour the U.S. with the [[Venardos Circus]].
